Tucker HS Parents,

Please see the information below:

  • Transcripts- Grades are posted to transcripts so students can check their credits and GPA. Senior parents-Students can send out their mid year transcript to colleges now.
  • Credit Recovery- If your student failed a class, please see below for different options.

Dear Parent/Guardians:

Students should enrolled in credit recovery when the final course grade is 69% or below. Please check Infinite Campus for final grades. Students who do not pass the required courses for graduation must retake the course. When students fail a course, we would strongly encourage you to sign them up for credit recovery.

The DeKalb County School System along with Tucker High School will provide an opportunity this semester for students who need to retake courses they failed. These options are free to all DeKalb County High School students. Only students who plan to retake courses through GACR may have a fee if they did not complete a previous credit recovery course with that program.

Students have the option to utilize the Georgia Credit Recovery platform, available through Georgia Virtual Learning. Flex Academy Restore is the online platform provided by DeKalb County Schools. Tucker HS will provide credit recovery through the Edgenuity Platform. These are all online platforms. The information to enroll in each program is in the link listed below.

  • THS Credit/Grade Recovery Use the THS Registration link to list the names of the course(s) you need to retake. https://forms.office.com/r/Biq89VzY10  That will complete the registration process.
  • Flex Academy Restore- Use the THS Registration link to list the names of the course(s) you need to retake. Complete the attached Student/Parent Agreement Here . Return the form to the Counseling Office as soon as possible. You will not be enrolled in the course if that form is not returned to the counselor. The counselor will submit your courses requests to Flex Academy once the form is completed and returned.
  • Georgia Virtual Credit Recovery If you would like to participate in Georgia Virtual Credit Recovery, you must sign up using the following link: https://gavs.geniussis.com/PublicWelcome.aspx.

Students will be responsible for creating a login and registering for the courses. Directions for registering with Georgia Credit Recovery are available in the link. If you already have an account, you do not need to create another one. Use the THS registration form listed below to list the name of the course(s) you would like to retake.

The deadline to register for credit recovery is January 23rd

Please be mindful, DCSD does not drop any failing grades. All courses (passed and failed) will be averaged to calculate the student's gpa. Failed courses have a negative impact on the gpa.

Please review the promotion requirements listed below. Students WILL NOT be promoted to the next grade level if they have not met the promotion requirements.

  • 10th Grade Promotion - 6 credits (3 core + 3 electives)
  • 11th Grade Promotion - 12 credits (6 core + 6 electives)
  • 12th Grade Promotion - 18 credits (9 core + 9 electives)
  • Total credits for graduation - 24 credits

  • Credits are earned with the successful completion of a course.
  • Each course is worth 0.5 credit.
  • The school year is divided into 2 semesters (Semester A and Semester B)
